Betty Hardin

Betty Hardin is the president of Big Blue Water LLC.  She consults regularly with executives from a variety of fields to help solve technological problems and define innovative solutions to advance the financial, technical, and competitive positions of their companies.

Prior to her current position, she worked in the manufacturing sector of the Office Furniture and Automotive Industries and held numerous positions including Database Administrator, Database Developer, Information Technology Manager, and Materials Manager.  She is experienced in several aspects of the manufacturing process including project management, inventory control, warehousing, manufacturing, and system implementation to tie it all together. She has successfully managed several ERP implementations, including integration with EDI, data collection, and accounting – on both Unix & Windows platforms, and a combination of the two. She specializes in Progress® Database Administration.

Throughout her career, she has served on several advisory committees including the Office Furniture Industry Council EDI Conventions Sub-Committee.  She is a founding member and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Western Michigan Progress Users Group (WMPUG), is a member of the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District (OAISD) Web Technologies Advisory Committee, and a member of the Allegan County Area Technical Education Center (ACATEC) IT Advisory Committee.

Born and raised in Saugatuck, Michigan, Betty now lives with her husband, Moe, on the Kalamazoo River in New Richmond, Michigan.  She enjoys spending time with her son, Charles Lacy (who is also an employee of the company) and her grandchildren, Devyn and Trevor.  In her spare time, she is actively involved with the Veteran’s Organizations of Fennville and Battle Creek and previously held the position of Commander of Amvets Post 1993 (Fennville), as well as 1st Vice of the Southwest Michigan Regional district.
